The defendants, who were passengers in the deponent's taxicab, directed the driver to St Nicholas Terrace, where one defendant [Harris] "paid deponent - handing him a fifty cent piece." The deponent, in the process of handing back change, was "poked in the side by [second defendant Graves] then holding a revolver in his hand." The third defendant, Austin, "then forced deponent from his seat and then to [the] hallway of 10 St Nicholas Terrace and, finding the door closed, Graves commanded deponent to "hand over the money, don't move or you'll get the works." All of the defendants hastily departed in deponent's taxi."
