-
The defendant, in concert with two unidentified men, gained access to the deponent's residence after Naomi Smith – the only person in the apartment at the time – let a “messenger boy” in. They then tied up Smith and the messenger boy, before another two men – already convicted – joined them. Once the deponent returned home, she was threatened with revolvers and “compelled... to open the safe in the apartment, from which they took a quantity of jewelry [valued at $5500] and [$1100 cash].”
