The deponent went to the defendant's house for a game of "whist," where the defendant "for no reason at all" struck the deponent "about the forehead with his hand in which he held some blunt instrument." The defendant then "push[ed] the deponent from his apartment to the hall, and knock[ed] him down ... then kick[ed] deponent about the head and eye and did stab him about the forehead and bridge of the nose with some sharp instrument."
