“About 4 AM visited above said place and was also stopped at the door, where a colored man told me that on account of being unaccompanied I cannot be admitted. I explained to him, but he wouldn't listen. Finally a uniformed policeman who is stationed in the premises appeared and ordered me to move. I told him that I supposed to meet a party of men and women in here and probably they are inside and would like to get in [sic]. After he looked me over, he told something to the colored man who spoke to me first and that policeman told me to go inside. On my way in that colored doorman said to me; “Lets hope your not wrong [sic]” I told him that I was in here before and he don't have to fear about me. I got in a big room, where mostly every table was occupied by white and colored couples. Most of the appeared to be intoxicated and didn't behaved [sic]. Dancing was going and improper dancing was observed. Young colored girl was entertaining the patrons with songs. Liquor was served to all patrons in here and many white and colored women that were here appeared to be professional prostitutes, who came up here with their escorts after most of places down town were closed. I was here till 5.20 AM and then left premises.”
