“I was taken there by Count A. E. Dudley and found present the proprietor, Mr Luther, and three colored women. I was introduced to all present by the Count. Drinks were ordered and served. Music was furnished by a phonograph and one of the girls, Edith, said to me “why so bashful, boy friend?” I said “not bashful at all girlie.” She said “What, are you afraid of me, or don't you like me?” I said “You are all right with me.” She then came where I was sitting, caught me by the hand and pulled me up out of the seat and hugged me. I said as I put my arm around her “Gee, you are some mama. What do you weight?” She said “About 175.” I said “Gee, I don't think I could struggle with that much.” She said “Oh, come on, take a chance. I'll make it good for you.” I said, “Yes, and what are you going to charge me for it?” She said “Oh, only a nickel ($5).” I said, “Does that include the room also?” She said “Yes.” I said “I'm a little tired girlie I have been out all day in the country and I don't think I have enough pep to struggle with you.” I was not solicited by either of the other girls.
