This is a colored dance hall, and the majority of the people who patronize it are negroes. There were only three white men present including myself and the colored folks present including the hostesses numbered about 150 (about 50 hostesses). I danced with a mulatto girl named Ella Greene and I asked her if she stepped out for a wild time and she said “I don't do anything like that, white boy.” I wasn't making any progress so I began to depart, but before doing so I witnessed a terrific fight between a hostess and a negro. The fight consisted of the hostess pulling his hair and calling him vile names, and it was finally stopped by the bouncer. There was also indecent dancing prevalent at this dance hall.
