Prisoner entered the bedroom of one James Singleton and stabbed him with a carving knife, inflicting lacerations of the chest, left wrist and forearm which required twenty four stitches in the chest and fourteen in the left arm by a surgeon in the French Hospital where he was confined for 5 days.
