Couple Arrested for Forcibly Holding White Girl

James Green and his wife Myrtle Donovan Green were arrested after detectives of the 152nd street station raided their home. The couple were charged with abducting and forcibly withholding a 17 year old white girl, Irene Keanler, whom the police found in their apartment. The detectives beleived that the girl had been held in the apartment for four months and made to submit to immoral practices during that time. James Green claimed that the girl chose to stay with him and his wife.
