The defendant, after meeting Melva Bryson - a 15 year old girl - on West 141st Street, told her that his wife wanted to see her. Upon taking her up to his apartment, he "did force her to lie on a bed ... and there commit [an] act of sexual intercourse," forcing a handkerchief into her mouth to smother calls for help. Afterward, he threatened to kill her if she told anyone.
