Frances Salimbene against Erna Buttner

The defendant [Buttner], on several occasions prior to her arrest, threatened to accuse the deponent [Salimbene, a midwife] of having committed an abortion unless she paid her the sum of $175. The deponent notified the police and made arrangements with the defendant to pay her the said sum of money. After paying the defendant in marked bills at her East 124th Street apartment, a police officer showed up at the premises and arrested the defendant for extortion.
