While at corner of West 124th Street and Nathan Davis Place [Mt. Morris Park West], the defendants [Jones, Stewart] robbed the deponent [Pride] by means of a confidence game referred to as the “pocket book switch game.” The two defendants stopped her and engaged her in a conversation and, “after gaining deponent’s confidence and in order to show her good faith so that she might have shared the contents of a pocket book which was dropped by some other man, deponent did hand over to these defendants [a gold wrist watch, a breast pin, and diamond ring, and $4 cash], which these defendants took and started to run.” After a short chase, the defendants were apprehended and the property was returned.
