While in his West 134th Street apartment, the deponent [Waiters] heard a knock on the door. One Elisha James opened it, to find the defendant [Coleman], along with three other men – one of whom “held a revolver and pointed it at the person of deponent,” while another “struck deponent on the forehead with his fist.” The third man then “broke open the clothes closet,” while the defendant “went through the apartment ransacking same.” The man who had punched the deponent then stole $ 7 “from the clothing of deponent.”
