Defendants Griffin and Franklin entered the West 140th Street apartment of the deponent – which he used as an illegal speakeasy, and where four other people were present – with revolvers drawn, and “made deponent and the other persons disrobe.” They then stole two suits of clothing, as well as $28 in currency from the deponent's pocket. Defendant Simpson, who was already at the premises, had suggested that the other two men hold up the speakeasy, and took some of the proceeds from the robbery.
