"One of the more enjoyable dances given on the Fourth was the Royal Canadians' "Holiday Dance" at the Saratoga Club, and in spite of it being a holiday with the usual number of club folks on picnics and outings, a large number returned to the city to send an enjoyable evening with the hosts... Everyone present had a good time as was evidenced by the mirth and merriment that were shown while they danced to the strains of Elmer Snowden and his orchestra"
