While attempting to rob a Madison Avenue “shade and glass store” with defendants Springer [aged 16] and Jackson [aged 17], the defendant Taliafatto [aged 18] “discharged the contents of four chambers of a pistol… at Morris Emert, inflicting a gunshot wound in [his] left chest… causing his death.” The defendants fled the scene, but were apprehended by police shortly after.
