After leaving her apartment for the day, the deponent returned home to find the window leading in from the fire escape broken and a quantity of goods – including a radio, suit, hat box and suit case – stolen from said premises. A few days later, the defendant, who resided in the same apartment, “stated to her that another man pawned the radio and gave him the ticket... which he returned to the deponent.”
