Malachi Mongin allegedly robs Thomas Hanratty

While the deponent was in the hallway of 129 West 128th Street, the defendant and three others not arrested entered, one of whom “aimed a pistol at deponent and ordered him to stick em up.” One of the other men then reached into deponent’s hip pocket and stole his wallet – containing $8 – before ordering him up the stairway. The four men then fled the scene, and the defendant was “caught by Detective William J. Leahy while running.”
