The defendant [Cervara]
-
The defendant [Cervara] “did knowingly receive money for procuring deponent for the purpose of prostitution.” On June 21, 1935, one Charles Costello took the deponent to 24 West 113th Street, where she worked as a prostitute for one Tony Menambres over a four day period – half of the proceeds from which she handed over to Menambres, who gave a third of such to the defendant. Upon questioning, the defendant stated that “one Louis Savero supplied the apartments in which the acts of prostitution were committed; that… Costello brought in the girls… [and] Menambres managed the premises.”
