While in the hallway of a building on West 128th Street, the deponent [Berman] was approached by the defendant [Thompson] – who was holding a knife – and another man not arrested, who “had his hand in his pocket, pointing at deponent in a threatening manner.” The defendant then “place[d] his arm about deponent’s throat,” while both men attempted to rob him of $30 cash.
