After forcibly opening the door leading into deponent Gordon
-
After forcibly opening the door leading into deponent Gordon’s room, the defendant [Melvin], who had stayed the night with a co-resident, stole a diamond bracelet – valued at $300 – from within. He was later arrested by a police officer at the corner of West 129th Street and Seventh Avenue. The proprietor of a nearby pawn store confirmed that the defendant had recently pledged a diamond bracelet, although he had reclaimed it shortly after. Said valuable was not in his possession when arrested.
