"The Harlem Republican Club of the 21st Assembly District gave its second annual June walk for children of the 21st Aldermanic District, on Saturday morning, June 8th. Led by Alderman Conrad A Johnson, to whose efforts much of the success of the event was due, the march proceeded from the club's headquarters, 2350 Seventh avenue, up Seventh avenue to 145th street, to Bradhurst avenue and thence to Colonial Park. At the park, the children were treated by the club to as much ice cream, soda, cake, and lemonade as they could consume. The festivities were enlivened by Miss Mabel Taliaferro Spiller's youthful fife and drum corps"
