"Two men are dead, a third man and a woman are in Harlem Hospital as the result of an outbreak of crime which featured the recent weekend. Depute the presence of almost double the usual number of policemen on patrol through the streets of Harlem... in an effort to forestall any possible outbreak arising from the Italo-Ethiopian situation, an unusual number of crimes were reported over Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Said to have been attempting to escape after taking part in a hold-up of a restaurant at 172 West 132nd Street last Saturday night, a man identified as George Moyler... was shot and killed by Patrolmen Steiner... in the second floor hallway of the building of 167 West 133rd Street. A second man, said to have been his accomplice, escaped."
