"The old Lenox Club, known in turn as the Rhythm Club and Continental Hall, and which was originally opened as a cabaret by Arthur (Happy) Rhone, the well known drummer, was razed by fire Monday morning. It stood adjacent to the aristocratic Cotton Club, on Lenox Avenue, between 142nd and 143rd Streets. Damages were estimated at $15,000. Harry Dixon, manager of the Continental Hall, as the place was last known, locked the doors and left for home at 4 a.m. The fire, of undetermined origin, was discovered by a passerby, who turned on the alam. Fire apparatus arrived at the scene twenty minutes later.
