"Douglass Burrell, 34-year-old husband and father of four young children, was shot dead Sunday evening on a third floor landing at 229 West 144th street, as he attempted to flee from the irate husband of a former mistress. The slayer, James Harris, husband of Elsie Harris, employed for many years as a clerk in the compensation division of the Labor Department, 80 Center street, was the object yesterday of an intensive hunt by Detectives Webber and Brown of the West 135th street station."
