"Mrs Daisy Garrison, 148 West 124th street, gave a gay pink tea last Saturday evening in honor of her daughter, Jessie, and several of Jessie's classmates, who were graduated from the Y.W.C.A. secretarial school last Thursday night. A delicious collation of chicken and potato salad, strawberry short cake, punch, cake, candy, and nuts was served. Haunting tunes for the dancing were played by the Manhattan String Band, of which George Washington is leader. Novel favors-diplomas, in which were closed dinner rings-were given to the girls present"
