"An alleged attempt by the two white candidates for the Democratic leadership of the 19th A.D. to divide the district among themselves without giving the Negroes any more recognition caused the meeting of the County Committee of the district to break up in a near riot Monday night, September 30. The meeting was held at the Masonic Hall, 103 Morningside Avenue."
