Communists Picket Butchers Along 8th Ave

"Escorted by Police in radio cars, mounted and on foot, a procession of about 130 Communists staged a mild demonstration along Eighth avenue from 123rd to 137th streets, Tuesday afternoon. The affair, according to numerous speakers who mounted pedestals at many corners, was part of a campaign to force local butchers to cut their prices twenty five per cent. Butcher stores all along the line of march were contacted, picket details being left to patrol in front of the shops of those who refused to sign up with the movement"
