"The Board of Deacons and and membership of Mt Olivet Baptist Church struck back at C. Franklin Carr, the former chairman of of the Trustee Board, at a membership meeting held at that church on July 1. Mr Carr's name was dropped from the membership roll because he is alleged to have acted improperly in giving to The New York Age the story of his registration as chairman of the Trustee Board before it had been officially received by the church"
