While visiting the premises of 144 West 119th Street, the deponent [Wright] told an unknown man that she “wanted to get into a “house” [of prostitution].” Defendant Hale, who overheard the conversation, directed her to defendant Lee’s Lenox Avenue apartment. The deponent stayed at these premises for “about 5 ½ days,” during which she “perpetrated acts of sexual intercourse with several Chinese males.” After receiving $2 from each client, the deponent would give the money to defendant Lee – who stated the she intended to give her half at the end of the week. During this period, defendant Hale was often present in the apartment.
